For the 46th year, the Black Women Lawyers Foundation (BWLF) will hold its scholarship fundraiser and awards luncheon. The date is Saturday, June 4 and will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Back in 1975 when the foundation began, there wasn’t an organization that addressed the distinct needs of Black women lawyers or young women who hoped to one day practice law. A group of Los Angeles-based African-American women and judges got together and the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles was formed. It handed out its first scholarships that year. The BWLF was created in 1992. Ever since, the Foundation has been committed to supporting future generations of diverse attorneys and promoting excellence, equity and inclusion in the justice system.
If you’d like to support this important organization and its efforts, here is where you can find the details about the BWLF and its upcoming luncheon.
I hope to see you there.
